As a chef and world traveler who has had the privilege of indulging in Europe’s finest pastries, I can confidently say that Herban Market is a revelation in our sleepy Southern hamlet. Emily, the genius behind the oven, crafts pastries that could stand shoulder to shoulder with the best patisseries in Paris, yet they’re imbued with a warmth and soul that’s distinctly Southern. The creme brulee cube croissant is a marvel, a harmonious blend of crispy perfection and creamy decadence. The specialty cinnamon rolls are nothing short of a love affair—each bite is an invitation to linger a little longer. Then there’s the Earl Grey blueberry danish, a pastry so thoughtfully balanced in flavor and texture, it could easily become an obsession. And the twice-baked PB&J? It’s pure, unadulterated comfort, reimagined with a level of finesse that only a true artisan could achieve. Emily’s mastery of technique, particularly her lamination, is something that any pastry chef in Europe would envy. Every layer is a testament to her dedication to the craft. The ingredients are premium and the flavors are natural and sublime, with hints of cardamom and caramel, frangipane, and beautiful Madagascar vanilla beans. But it’s not just about the food—the atmosphere at Herban Market is like a warm embrace, with front of house staff Kelly and Grace adding a touch of warmth and charm to every visit. They make you feel as if you’re a cherished friend stopping by for a morning chat. And let’s not forget the homemade dog treats! Even our furry companions are treated to something special here. Herban Market isn’t just a stop—it’s a destination, a place where culinary artistry, quality healthy ingredients, and Southern hospitality collide in the most beautiful way creating connection and community.

The vegan food is amazing, and they were so accommodating. Incredibly helpful, professional and friendly. One of my absolute favorite places to go to eat, and yes I agree there should be delivery options, because I also would order from here weekly. I got the vegan biscuits and gravey and two vegan baked goods. Amazing as always.

What a discovery, it is one of the few places in the US that they know how to work with Filo (Puff Pastry) compares to the quality of a good French cafe. Personnel is lovely and well trained, ambiance very nice. Wish them tons of success, a true Beaufort jewel, with a beautiful view of the river. Don’t miss it!

When you walk five or six miles around Beaufort debating whether or not to steal 50 pounds of Spanish Moss (I didn’t) — you get hungry. Stop here! A wonderful grab and go market with a super friendly staff! Vegan options available - bonus!!

You get the full lowcountry experience here. This location gives incredible water views from the spacious and trendy outdoor patio. You're then greeted with the smells of fresh coffees & enticed by the incredible baked goods counter as soon as you step inside. Staff is incredibly sweet, and you're orders are promptly handled. I had the chai latte, yum. Paired with a light-as-air creme brulee cube. Heaven! Took a mango passion fruit cheesecake slice to go and I've got absolutely no regrets. Sweet, tangy, light & delicious! Prices were fair and I'd happily return the next time I'm in the area

Nice local Beaufort cafe. Herban breakfast Croissant is a must try. The savory and cakes gets over very fast so it’s best to come for breakfast. Would recommend to try anything that would be made on the spot like eggs. Cakes and croissants are amazing especially the Almond Croissants. A little pricey I personally felt but overall a great experience and comes with a great view.
